I have had a pretty busy first month. I
was born 3 days before Thanksgiving, and now Christmas is approaching!
In the past month I have done a lot of growing. Before leaving the
hospital at 1 day old, I weighed in at 6 lb 9 oz, which was a 7 oz
loss. By the next day I started gaining again, and at last check (Dec
17th) I was 9 lb 5 oz, almost a 3 lb gain in 3 weeks.
I go in tomorrow for my 1 mo weight check,
Mommy will update my progress than! I hope that everyone has a safe
& wonderful holiday! |

| Birth Story |
Thu, Nov 26, 2009 |
So it started last night at 10:26 pm, that is when I spun around on my chair to stand up to go to bed, and I felt my water break, and immediately was soaked. I called my Mom up to the dining room to help me get ready. Robert had just went up to start his shower and go to bed. Well, his son had other plans.
At this point I really wasn't having any contractions. I called the advice nurse line, and was told to go ahead & get ready to go to L&D. I get to L&D around 11 am. At 11:30 am they checked me & I was 3 cm dilated, 80% effaced & -3 station. At this point it doesn't look like he will be born on Daddy's birthday.
At this time the contractions were still managable, and I was texting away. LOL At 1:15 am they started getting stronger. She checked me again at 1:30 & I was at 4 cm still 80% effaced & -3 station. I was starting to hurt a little with the contractions, so I asked for the IV meds, and boy was tbat a mistake. They give me the meds, and I start to feel better right away, so I decide since it's going to take awhile, I will try to rest.
I was up visiting with my mom, Robert & our nephew Chris, who left around 4. I dozed off shortly after he left, only to be awaken by the painful contractions I was now having. This was at 5 am, I woke up with the urge to push, and a lot of pressure. So the nurse checks me, and sadly I was only 5 cm & still only 80% effaced. But they contractions just weren't going away, and they were coming hard. Over the next few mins she keep checking me, and by 5:22 am I was ready to push. I started my push and he was here! I went from 5 cm to 10 cm in 22 min, and it hurt like hell.
He was taken to be weighed, and was 7 lb 2 oz & 19 in long. When they took him to check him out they said something about a possible heart murmur, but guess it was nothing cause the ped didn't say anything about it when she came in. He nursed right away from both breasts. We are all happy & excited. .

| 34 wk appt & U/S |
Thu, Oct 29, 2009 |
The appt went well. I have lost 2 lbs now making my weight loss 12 lbs
again, BP was good & all the other fun stuff. She checked me for
dilation due to all the contractions that I'm having, and nothing,
still closed which is good " class="inlineimg" border="0">
She also put in for me to have another u/s. When I almost failed my 3
hr they wanted me to see a nutritionist, who then tells me she is
concerned because my fundal height is measuring bigger. But the
midwives all tell me I'm measuring right on. He was also breach at my appt.
I had an u/s today to determine his size, he is measuring in at 35 w 2 d, which is 5 days ahead of schedule, which would give me a due date of Dec 1st, but they probably won't change the date. He is also measuring about 5 lb 8
oz now. And for the best news of all he is HEAD DOWN!!!
It's funny I was playing with him last night in the tub, and after I
got out, I was pushing & some other things, he started moving &
wouldn't stop for over an hr, I'm guessing maybe that's when he was
changing positions. And based upon the strongest heartbeat today that
reassures me that the midwives were right, cause they weren't getting
anything down there for the past 4-6 weeks, and today she was able to
get it the strongest down there.
She said that I may need to have another u/s in a few weeks, we will have to wait & see what my midwives say though.

| 28 wk appt & more |
Mon, Sep 21, 2009 |
Yesterday was my 28 wk appt. The appt went well, lost a lb since
last month. Blood pressure was good, and Zackary's heartbeat was
strong. I also did my 1 hr glucose test, got the results last night,
and like I thought, I failed, which I know why I failed, but oh well. I
will have to do the 3 hr test next week sometime. I had to go through
the same thing with Braeden, and I passed, out of 10 pregnancies, I
haven't had it, so hopeful I don't now.
I asked about
my breathing problem lately, and the placement of my placenta, she said
that my placenta wouldn't have anything to do my breathing &
pain because I shouldn't be able to feel it. So she checked to see
where Zackary was, because of my placenta she couldn't feel, but from
his heart tones she said he is breech. We are hoping that in the next 8
wks he will turn on his own, if not then we will spend the remaining
weeks trying to turn him. I hope he turns, I'd rather not have to go
through a C-Section. I go back on the 29th for my 30 wk appt.
Today
we made our 1st big purchase for Zack. We bought him a shiny new car
seat LOL Babies R Us had this great offer going on. It's a trade in
event lasting until the 20th. You bring in a used car seat, stroller or
play yard, and you get a 20% off coupon towards the purchase of a new
item. So we took in our old double stroller that hasn't been used in
over a yr. We got a Baby Trend Flex Loc -Jet I
like it because it's got the little cover for his feet, it goes up to
30 lbs, and it's black so we could use it for the next baby no matter
the sex I am also going to be getting a Sit & Stand so it
will go great with that
Now we just need to figure out what else we need to get, since we pretty much need everything

| It's a BOY! |
Sun, Jul 26, 2009 |
| Well, we went in for our Big Ultrasoubd today, and we are having a healthy Baby Boy! Yes, Baby Boy #5 is on his way. All measurements were good, and he's a stubborn one. I have to go back in 3 weeks for another u/s cause she couldn't get him to move so she could measure his spine. I also found out that my placenta is above my uterus which is why I don't feel him move as much. So now on to think of a name for him. Posted pics in his album. |
