Spraypark and Emergency Trip to the Pediatric Dentist! Sun, Apr 26, 2009
Spraypark and Emergency Trip to the Pediatric Dentist!
 +enlarge photo

Friday we headed to the spraypark with our playgroup and we were really excited since it was our first time since it opened this year. Owen had a blast and Camryn was so cute in her tutu bikini! We played and ate lunch and then there was an accident! Camryn was practicing walking and holding onto my finger and she let go and tried to fall and grab a metal dome that squirts water - well it was of course wet and her hand slipped and she went teeth first into it - she was screaming and it was apparent that her teeth had been pushed up into her gums and were bloody and swollen.......I called the pediatrician and she said to immediately head to the pediatric dentist - but it was 11:45 and they were closing in 15 minutes but would wait for me - thank goodness! The other mommies helped me get the kids out of their swimsuits and into the car along with all the other stuff. We got to the dentist and they were SO NICE - Owen was running around like a wild man and it was so stressful - but the dentist said that Camryn was probably going to be okay - her teeth DID get pushed back into the gums, that they were really bruised but that baby teeth were resilient and should grow back out and hopefully not die. I have to clean them with peroxide and watch for discoloration and absesses in case they are too damaged - she is also on antibiotics for possible infection. She seems to be okay but I felt so sorry for her - but you know Camryn...she just smiles through it all!

One Year Old! March 5, 2009

Can you believe Camryn is a year old ALREADY?!  We had an awesome pink and brown cupcake birthday party last Saturday and all her freinds were there!  She dug right into her cake and got SO MAD when after eating half of it in less than 5 minutes, we took it away so she wouldn't get sick!  Girlfriend loves to EAT!  She gots lots of neat presents and we really enjoyed her day.

Camryn now has 3 teeth - two on the bottom and one big snaggle tooth on the top which looks so funny but so cute at the same time.  She is crawling everywhere and pulling up and cruising on the furniture - she will be walking soon!  She loves to copy everything Owen does and they are already fighting and getting into trouble together - soon I will be chasing both of them in different directions - I am IN FOR IT!

I took her to the pediatrician yesterday for her one year visit - she is 29 inches and 27 pounds!  The doctor says I need to watch what she eats and how much - she is off the charts for weight but only in the 50th for height.  I can't help it if she loves to eat - and it's usually her veggies first!  I know she will do the same as Owen and grow out of her cute baby chubby stage - until then I will snuggle all of that baby fat!

Sweet Baby Girl

Camryn is SUCH a cuddle bug - I LOVE the way she lays her head in the crook of my neck when she is sleepy or has just woken up and I have gotten her out of her crib.  She just melts my heart!

EVERYWHERE! February 9, 2009

Camryn is EVERYWHERE!  She is crawling faster and faster and is pulling up - especially on the train table, much to Owen's dislike! Smile

Camryn has also gotten her FIRST TOOTH - well, THREE teeth, now!  She has one on the top and two on the bottom - no more gummy grins!

Her first birthday is in less than three weeks - so exciting but so sad at the same time.  I want her to stop growing up RIGHT NOW!  I have been rocking her at night for an extra long time because I know that before long, there will be no more baby-rocking for her and I will miss it. Frown

I have loaded tons of new pictures in the January and February albums so check them out!

HAPPY NEW YEAR! January 14, 2009
Camryn will be ONE YEAR OLD in less than two months!  My baby girl is getting so big! She is almost on ALL table food now - she HATES baby food!  She has started "crawling" and although it's not the normal baby crawl, she gets to where she wants to go.  Camryn waves and says bye-bye, can say Mama and Bubba, too.  She is still not sleeping through the night but it is getting better - only one wake-up each night, usually.  She is a great napper and is still just as laid back and as happy as always!  Her faces get funnier every day and she keeps us laughing.  Her ears were staying infected and both of her eardrums even perforated due to the pressure so she had a set of tubes put in and had her adenoids removed on January 8th.  She did great during the 30 minute surgery and recovered quickly - better than her brother who also had surgery that day!  We are hoping this is the end to the constant ear infections and sickness around here.  I am busy planning her first birthday party - a pink and brown cupcake theme - it is sure to be fun!  I just can't imagine my life without my sweet baby girl - she is one of my most favorite blessings!

Check out the December and January albums for new pictures! We had a GREAT CHRISTMAS with Mimi and Pawpaw and you can see how spoiled Camryn was by looking at the pictures!  Also, if you want to keep up with us on a more daily basis, check out our family blog.

Camryn is officially crawling!  It may not be fast..or even the normal baby-crawl, but she eventually gets to where she wants to be!  Now I am really in for it!

Camryn wants me to tell Santa that she has been EXTRA good this year (but that her brother hasn't)!  She would like a kitchen and some baby dolls!

RSV December 8, 2008
Camryn is doing so well!  She is SO unbelievably laid back and is the "smileyest" baby I have ever met!  She is not interested in crawling at all - she would MUCH rather sit and watch her brother and play with his toys.  She LOVES attention and will give you this big scrunchy-face smile that we call "The Joker." We are really looking forward to her First Christmas - she has been extra good and deserves ALL Santa's loot!

We had an AWESOME Thanksgiving in Houston at Mimi and Pawpaw's house!  Camryn LOVED getting to see everyone - Mimi, Pawpaw, Gigi, Gipaw, G-Dot and G-Pop, Uncle Nathan and Aunt Anna and of course Aunt Lala!  Camryn's favorite part of the big meal was Mimi's sweet potatoes and I don't blame her! She was spoiled rotten from all the attention but she deserved it - she is a love!

Before we left for Houston, Camryn wasn't getting better so I took her to the pediatrician YET AGAIN and she had RSV which a bad respiratory infection - many small babies are hospitalized for this!  She had a HORRIBLE cough and runny nose and really felt bad so we gave her breathing treatments every 4 hours.  She got even worse while we were in Houston so I took her to a doctor there and she had a full-blown ear infection on top of the RSV - POOR BABY!  She is FINALLY feeling better - THANK GOODNESS!

Growing FAST!
 +enlarge photo

I guess our "little" princess has just gone through a real growth-spurt because she is now in almost all 18 month clothes and a size 4 shoe!  At our last doctor's appointment she weighed almost 23 pounds making her above the 95th percentile just like her brother!

8 1/2 months old! November 20, 2008

My little baby girl is already 8 1/2 months old - didn't I just find out I was pregnant again?!?!?!

Camryn is absolutely a joyful little baby!  She is so happy 99% of the time - except when she is hungry, tired or whenever Owen is "giving her a hard time!" She LOVES to watch cartoons and Sesame Street and could sit and play with her brother's toys for hours and hours.  She LOVES to be snuggled and sung to and she LOVES all the new foods and snacks she is able to eat now - puffs, teething crackers, wagon-wheel snacks, mushed spaghetti and she loves to gum on sliced apples.  Camryn still has no teeth but she has quite an appetite regardless! We wish she would sleep through the night - she still gets up at least once to get a bottle and some other times just to get her pacifier back.  Her pacifier is still her favorite thing in the whole wide world....except for Mommy, of course! She ALWAYS sleeps on her belly and has figured out how to turn on her rainforest projector in her crib.  Camryn's newset thing is to make this hilarious, squished-up face and whine when no one is paying attention to her - as soon as you look at her she stops and smiles!  Little stinker!

Pumkin Patch Visit Saturday, October 11, 2008
Pumkin Patch Visit
 +enlarge photo

This past weekend we had so much fun! We met Ashley, Brady and Avery at Mrs. Heather's Pumpkin Patch in Hammond and the kids had a blast! We took lots of pictures and they are too cute - although Avery was the only one interested in smiling for the camera - she is a ham! Owen just wanted to run and swing and Camryn just wanted to eat the pumpkins! The kids enjoyed picking out their pumpkins, checking out the petting zoo and Camryn even got her face painted. Afterwards, we ate outside at La Caretta in downtown Hammond. It was a GREAT day!

A MUCH better month so far! October 10, 2008

October has been a MUCH better month for our little princess!  NO hurricanes and NO hospital stays! YAY!

Camryn is already over 7 months old - seriously?!  I just don't know where the time is going!? She is eating more and more baby food and is doing a better job at opening up for bites - we were having to pry her little mouth open because she WANTED to eat but wasn't sure how it was done!  Camryn is still getting up once or twice a night - usually once to eat and once because she wants her pacifier put back in - she is still teething but NO teeth yet!  She is a real roly-poly and moves all ove her crib to get to her toys. She adores her brother AND LOVES to steal his cars and trucks to chew on, much to his dislike!  She is a real-people-watcher and LOVES to give people that "scrunchy-face-smile" she got from her Daddy. Her hair is really starting to sprout and she dare not go anywhere without a bow in it!  Camryn is now able to sit in both a grocery shopping cart AND a restaurant highchair by herself - she is even in a "big girl" carseat, courtesy of Owen!  She has also become a real chatterbox this past week - "talking" all the time - wonder where she gets that from?!  We also had her second baby dedication last Sunday - this one here in Baton Rouge at our church we go to. It was such a special night because her Godparent's Ashley and Brady were present AND her best friend Avery (our godchild and their daughter) was also dedicated that night - they were adorable together and it was a very special time for all of us! Camryn is just such a sweetheart and I look at her all the time and think about all the joy that she has already brought us and all the joy she will bring us in the future (especially when she takes care of us in "the home" when we get old)!  Camryn is truly our little blessing and we are so lucky to be her and Owen's parents!

Halloween?! October 10, 2008
Halloween?!
 +enlarge photo

So, Camryn will have TWO Halloween costumes this year - ridiculous, I know!  BUT, I wanted to have one for special pictures like Owen had last year when he was the elephant and one for all the parties we have to go to - PLUS, the second one coordinates with Owen's costume!  What are they, you ask? It's a secret of course!

Stay Tuned for Pictures!

Milk Girl......... September 24, 2008
Milk Girl.........
 +enlarge photo

Unlike her brother at this age, Camryn is not a big fan of baby food AT ALL!  It is a struggle to even get her to finish 1/2 a small tub - but we keep trying! She is more of a milk girl - she LOVES her BOTTLES!  So far she has tried all of the stage 1 baby foods and she likes pears and applesauce the best - she HATED peas and green beans!  She would rather spit those out all over Mommy and her highchair, and then finger paint with them on her tray!

September Could Be Better.... September 23, 2008

Well, the month of September hasn't been the best for Camryn!  Hurricane Gustav hit Louisiana on September 1st - Labor Day - and although it was only a category 2/3, it was a terrible storm!  We had minor damage, like uprooted trees and a messed up fence, but compared to MANY other people, we were very lucky!  The power went out that Monday around 1pm so we spent the rest of the day sweating and then the night in the dark!  Owen and Cam got baths by candlelight and then we all slept in our room because we had borrowed a generator that was running our refrigerator and deep freeze, as well as one window unit.  The next morning, Daddy decided it would be best for us to head to Mimi and Pawpaw's house in Houston until our power was turned back on, so we did.  We spent Tuesday through Tuesday there and we had a GREAT TIME! Mimi and Pawpaw spoiled us rotten with meals out, tons of new toys and LOTS of attention!  Auntie Ashley and her sister and baby Avery came for a few days, too - they didn't have power, either, so we were all refugees!  Camryn LOVED petting their dog and cats and she adored having so much Mimi and Pawpaw time - she is spoiled rotten because of it!  We headed home on Tuesday because Hurricane Ike was headed to Houston and we thought we better get out of there!  Mimi and Pawpaw's house was hit hard, but didn't suffer a lot of damage - but LOTS of other people did!  Galveston and surrounding coastal areas were DESTROYED...we feel so sorry for those people!  So, Camryn is only 6 months old and she has already ridden out one hurricane and run from another!

Another reason September hasn't been good to little miss is that last Tuesday she came down with a nasty respiratory virus. That night, after having been at the doctor twice already that day, Camryn went to bed just fine but around 11pm, as I was about to go to bed, something told me to go in and just feel her - well I did and she was ON FIRE! I quickly checked her temp. and it was soaring at 104.5! I called the on-call nurse who told me to go ahead and bring her in to the ER but I wanted to talk to our doctor first - just to be sure - because I detest the ER because of our experince with Owen there when he was 3 months old. Our doctor called me back and also told me I needed to bring her in. So, Jared stayed home with Owen and I raced to Our Lady of the Lake Pediatric ER. When I got there at midnight, it didn't look too crowded so I thought it would only take an hour or two to be seen. I had called my mom and Ashley, my best friend, on the way there and guess who showed up right after I finished filling out my paperwork? You got it, Ashley! I was SO suporised and so very thankful to have someone to talk to and to calm me down while we waited. And waited, we did. We finally got take back to one of the rooms at 3:15 am, poor Ashley left at 3:30am, and I didn't even see a doctor...excuse me, "intern", until around 4am. He wanted to catheterize her but I told him we had already done that at the pediatrician's office and that the results were at St. Elizabeth's and to call them. He said we didn't need to do bloodwork OR give fluids....remind you, Cam had not eaten NOR had a wet diaper in almost 12 hours at this point. He left the room FOR OVER AN HOUR and that is when I started to LOSE IT. I was so angry, so tired, so helpless - I felt like my baby girl NEEDED help and no one was doing anything...and I couldn't take it away from her. When he returned he clearly saw that I was upset - he again tried to make light of the situation and then I told him I wanted to see the attending physician - the big dog - whoever was in charge. I bawled my eyes out and told her everything right from the start about the situation. She agreed that bloodwork needed to be done and that Camryn needed fluids to prevent dehydration. The nurses came in and gave her an IV which was VERY hard for me to watch because they had trouble finding a vein and poor Camryn was in pain. They finally got some blood and started fluids at around 7am - SEVEN HOURS after we had arrived. She FINALLY fell asleep on my chest as the fluids ran for over an hour. When that was finished, we tried to get her to drink some pedialyte but she wouldn't and that is when the doctor decided that we needed to be admitted. I was so exhausted from not only this night of no sleep but also from the night before - I could have collapsed right there. Finally, we were taken to a REAL room upstairs and Camryn got to lay down in the hospital baby bed. Jared dropped Owen off at Mother's Day Out at 9am and was at the hospital by 10am. Doctors came and saw us and we discussed that she really needed to be drinking well before we could go home and that her temperature needed to be stabilized. She also had really thick mucous clogging and pouring from her nose and had been suctioned every 20 minutes or so for the duration of our stay. That is part of the reason she wouldn't eat. Her urinalysis came back negative, her chest x-rays looked okay and her blood workup showed an elevated white blood cell count, indicating infection. Since it was viral and not bacterial, antibiotics wouldn't work so we just had to sit back and let her little body fight it. That first day, I left around noon, picked Owen up from MDO, came home and put him down for a nap - I got a shower and a small nap, packed a bag and we were back at the hospital by 5:30 pm. Jared took Owen home and Ashley brought me dinner and sat with me and Camryn for a few hours. I just can't tell you how amazing of a friend she truly is - I am so lucky to have her - she is truly the most selfless person I have ever met. After Ashley left around 8:30 pm, I got Camryn to sleep and I collapsed onto the little couch and slept from 10:30pm to 3:3oam and so did Camryn. 5 hours in a row was AMAZING - I felt like a new person again. At 3:30 her temp. was back up to 102 and she had soaked her clothes and bed linens with sweat - we got her some tylenol, suctioned her again, changed her and the sheets and we both went back to sleep from 5am to 7am. The next morning she STILL wasn't eating at all and was having a lot of trouble breathing....not much of a change. I was there all day today but came home with Owen that night around 6 - I really missed him and although it broke my heart to leave Camryn, I knew Jared would take great care of her - I needed rest and to get some things done around the house and for the Wee-Cycle sale which started Friday. That evening (Thursday), Jared actually got Camryn to eat around 6 ounces over a 4 hour period! PROGRESS! Friday she ate more often and was doing so well that they took her off the IV and monitored her intake and output the rest of the day and she did MUCH better!  She was discharged around 4pm and she and Daddy were home by 5! It was SO GOOD to have her back in my arms - at our house!

Camryn's hair has really started to "sprout" now - and sticks straight up in some places just like Jared's did when he was a baby!  She has a HUGE smile and her whole face scrunches up just like Jared's when they smile!  TO CUTE!  She is getting stronger and stronger and is sitting up on her own for a few seconds - she is REALLY trying.  She grabs everything within reach - and it goes straight into her mouth - she is REALLY teething right now.  She LOVES her brother and Judge, our dog - she could watch them for hours

Camryn is 6 months old! August 28, 2008

We went to the doctor today for Camryn's 6 months check up and it went great...except for the two shots she had to get which she, of course, didn't like at all!  She weighs 19 pounds 4 ounces and is 27 1/4 inches long.  We go back in 3 months for another round of shots and well-baby check-up.  She is growing up fast!

Almost 6 months old already! August 21, 2008

WOW!  Camryn is already almost 6 months old!  I just can’t believe how time is flying by – I feel like I just had Owen!

Camryn is growing and changing by the minute.  She has really “mellowed out” this past month!  She no longer screams in her car seat from point A to point B which is really nice for Mommy and it makes it much more enjoyable to get out! She sits quietly and either plays with her toys or stares at her brother – which she does ALL THE TIME NOW!  It is so cute!  She still doesn’t laugh much, but Owen gets the most smiles out of her, and even occasionally a little giggle.  Owen gets very upset when she cries which is really sweet.  The other day we were in the big children’s room at the museum and a bigger girl accidentally stepped on Camryn’s head and she began WAILING – well, Owen was playing clear across the room and came running when he heard his Sissy!  He even cried, too – it was LOUD, but really sweet.  Owen LOVES to give Camryn her pacifier and to bring me any bottle he can get his hands on.  Speaking of pacifiers, we call them “nuni’s” here and Camryn just LOVES hers!  She has it in almost all the time – we are not looking forward to the day we have to break that habit!  Recently, Camryn has “found” her toes and they go straight into her mouth when her nuni falls out.  She also loves her new Rainforest Jumperoo that her Gigi got her – she bounces and dances all around it and has even worn herself out so much that she fell asleep in it once!  She is still not sleeping through the night – no surprise there – and we think she is teething because recently she has been getting up more than her usual twice a night to eat.  Ahhh, maybe one day we will have a full night’s sleep around here again!

We have been staying super busy – we get out and do something pretty much every single day before naptime at 1pm.  Lately we have been to the mall, the outlet mall, the pool, the inflatable play place, the park, the spraypark and to different friends’ houses for play dates.  We also went to the hot air balloon festival with Uncle BB, Auntie Ashley and Avery two weekends ago.  It was really fun – next year Camryn will be able to do all of the kiddie fun stuff that Owen did this year – we will be chasing two!  In September, Owen starts Mother’s Day Out twice a week which will not only be great for him, it will also give Mommy and Camryn some girl time!  Owen got Mommy all to himself when he was a baby so now it is her turn – for two days a week anyways!  We have also enrolled in a music class on Thursdays – our first class starts soon and we are really looking forward to it.  Along with all of our other play dates, we are going to be busy, busy, busy this fall!

Last weekend we headed to Uncle Charlie and Aunt Kelly’s house where Mommy and Daddy got to go see Dave Matthews in concert! It was awesome!  Mimi and Pawpaw were also there and stayed with all four grandkids while we went to the concert with Uncle Charlie and Aunt Kelly.  They did an amazing job with a 4 year old, two one year olds and a 5 month old – all of them were asleep by 9:30!  WOW!  Saturday we had a pool party and grilled a brisket and some chickens – it was a super fun day. Cousins Aiden and Emma are so cute!  Emma loved watching Camryn and Aiden kissed her and hugged her as much as possible.  Sadly, we left on Sunday and headed home.

Both Camryn and Owen came down with some sort of virus this past weekend – the diarrhea was disgusting but now they seem to be feeling better, although today Camryn broke out in some sort of a rash.  We headed to the doctor and were told it was an allergic reaction to something.  I have giver her Benadryl so hopefully it goes away soon!  My poor baby girl!

Allergic to WHAT?! Thu, Aug 21, 2008
Allergic to WHAT?!
 +enlarge photo

So, today we had a playdate at our house.  During the playdate I noticed that Camryn had a few red spots on her...but then they started to multiply and before I knew it - they were everywhere!  They were big, raised welp-looking spots!  I decided to go ahead and take her to the doctor and be there when they got back from lunch - with no appointment.  So, everyone left early from the playdate, I loaded the kids into the hot car and we got there at 12:55 and sat and waited for the staff to get back to the pediatrician's office.  Finally, at 1:05, all of the nurses came driving back up from lunch and I met them outside - they told me the doctor would not be in until 3 but they went ahead and looked her over in the car and told me it looked like an allergic reaction to something!  The only thing I could think of was the bananas she ate the night before. I went and got her some Benadryl, went home and gave it to her and then put her and Owen down for a nap.  I was really worried so I took some pictures of her and e-mailed them to the doctor - she e-mailed me back around 4:45 and told me to giver her a higher does of Benadryl and to bring her in to see her in the morning.  Wellll, that is not the end of the story - tonight I had my Weight Watchers meeting and then I went and tutored a friend's son, and wouldn't you know it, while I was gone, Daddy fed her a few bites of bananas before he remembered! AUGH!  Well, her face spotted up and more spots appeared on her stomach so I guess we know it's definitely the bananas!  I will take her in the morning to the doctor and keep you all posted!  My Poor BABY!  And we love bananas so I sure hope this is something she grows out of! Frown

5 months old already! July 28, 2008

Can you believe that Camryn is 5 months old today!?  I feel like I just had Owen!  She has grown so much these past few weeks - I am guessing she is close to 18 pounds now - I have moved her up to 6-9 or 6-12 month clothes and some of them are even too short for her long torso!  She is rolling from her back to her tummy and from her tummy to back and she LOVES to play with her toys on her activity mat - EVERYTHING goes straight into her mouth so I bet she is teething.  She loves to look at people and whenever she catches someone's eye, she gives a big gummy-grin that just melts your heart!  Camryn's hair is growing a little longer and is just as white as ever - along with her eyelashes and eyebrows.  Camryn loves bathtime and has figured out how to splash and make waves.  She is sleeping better at night - only waking up twice or so.  She is not a big-baby food eater like Owen was - she only takes a few bites of her veggies and is done so we don't push it too much.  The doctor recently put her on Zyrtec for her horrible allergies - her eyes constantly water and she sneezes and her poor little nose runs and runs.  I hope she gets some relief soon!

We just got back from our yearly trip to Kansas to visit Daddy's Family for a whole week! It was Camryn's first time to meet everyone and her first time on the farms.  She did great on her first plane ride - sleeping in Mommy's arms the whole time, except for her photo op witht he pilots int he cockpit! Camryn got to spend lots ot time with both sets of her great-grandparents and G-Dot and G-Pop all the way from Vietnam.  We stayed at the Wittry Farm the first part of the week and Grandma Wittry spoiled her - holding her and cuddling her and feeding her her bottles.  She even took the same naps on Grandma's bed that Owen took as a baby last year!  We had a fish fry and a pizza party and all of the Wittry side of the family got to meet our little princess. Then we headed to the Frank Farm for a few days and Camryn loved all the attention she got there, too! The last few days of our trip, we stayed at Great Uncle Ken and Great Aunt Shelly's house - they have four daughters so Camryn fit right in.  They have a beautiful house and we really enjoyed our time there!  We got to see some of the other aunts and uncles on G-Dot's side, too.  Mommy got to go get pedicures with all the girls but next year Camryn will get to come, too!  On Saturday before we left, Uncle Nathan and future Aunt Anna celebrated their engagement with a party in Kansas City.  BOTH sides of the huge family were there - that means close to 14 sets of aunts and uncles, cousins, grandparents and great-grandparents!  We had a great time at the party and Camryn was a little angel the whole time! It was a great trip and we really enjoyed our time with everyone - we couldn't have done it without G-Dot and G-Pop's help, though - they were lifesavers!

We are trying to get back into a normal routine now that we are home - it has been tough since Camryn had so much attention and so many people to hold her while in Kansas.  We went to the mall today and may run a few errands here and there this week but for the most part, we are just going to stay in out of the heat!

Leaving on a Jet Plane...
 +enlarge photo

Camryn went on her very first airplane ride this past week - to and From Kansas City - and she did GREAT!  On the way there she slept in Mommy's arms the whole time and on the way back she played with her toys and smiled and babbled at the people around us.  She was an ANGEL!

June News June 26, 2008

Oh, what a busy month we have had!  We went to Biloxi, MS to the Beau Rivage Hotel and Casino for two nights with Daddy's work and we all had a great time!  We ate and swam, and had fun being together for three days straight! Mimi and Pawpaw also came and stayed with us for a few days last week.  Daddy and Pawpaw went on a fishing trip so it was just Mimi and us and we had a great time eating out, shopping and playing!  We headed to Texas for a few days but had to cut our trip short because Camryn and Owen came down with a throat infection/virus and and temperatures of 103 on Sunday when we got there.  So, after on;y being in Houston for two days, we headed back home.  We had a great time with Mimi and Pawpaw and miss them already!

Camryn is growing and changing by the minute!  She is already over 16 pounds!  She turns 4 months on Saturday and we head to the pediatrician on Monday for her 4 month shots and check-up.  She is still eating a TON - about 40 ounces a day!  Sadly, I have given up breastfeeding due to her high demand, Owen's needs and our busy schedule.  I was really depressed about stopping but I have to realize that I did it exclusively for over 3 months and I have to do what is best for everyone.  She loves the bottle now because she can get food FAST and that makes her happy! Camryn still loves to be able to see everyone and she screams when she is in her carseat because she can't see me when I am driving.  Owen shakes his finger at her and says "no-no!"  It is so funny! She still wakes up twice at night to eat - she goes to bed around 8pm, eats once around 12, again around 4 and then is up at 7 or 8am with Owen.  Camryn takes a short nap in the morning and then she and Owen go down for a 2 to 3 hour long nap in the afternoon - which is quite nice for Mommy!  She absolutely LOVES to watch baseball, much to Daddy's delight and any game on tv is sure to calm her down if she is fussy! We are working more and more on tummy time, which she doesn't really care for, but she needs it to strengthen those little neck muscles!  Most of all, Camryn loves to be held and cuddled - what a typlical little girl!

G-Dot will be coming to visit for the 4th of July and then we will be heading up to Kansas July 19th through the 27th to visit Daddy's huge family!  We can't wait - although flying this year with TWO kids in our laps is going to be interesting!  We will post pictures and updates when we get back.

A Week of Firsts! May 31, 2008

WOW!  What a week this has been - Camryn has done so many new things!  Like Owen, she never seems to get full so we started adding rice cereal to her breastmilk bottles but the flow seemed a little fast for her so today we mixed some cereal and milk in a bowl and fed her with a spoon.  She gobbled it up!  Big brother Owen even got to give her a few bites!  Hopefully, this will help her feel fuller and last more than an hour or two between feedings.

Camryn also went swimming for the first time and loved it! Check out the news section for details. Her room is now ALL HERS (Owen is in his big boy bed now!) and I put her bedding and toys in her crib and she has taken two naps in there already!  We just need to go and purchase another baby monitor and then we will let her sleep in her very own room every night.

Camryn is smiling so much now and her little dimple on the right side is SO CUTE!  She loves to be sitting upright, facing out so she can see everything that goes on.  She watches Owen constantly and loves kisses from Judge, our dog. Tonight she will be staying with her first babysitters - our friends Amy and Kim - while Mommy and Daddy go out to celebrate our third wedding anniversary!  I hope she doesn't give them too much trouble - wink, wink!

Check out all of Camryn's new pictures of "firsts" in the May album and tell her how proud you are of her in the guestbook!

First time Swimming!
 +enlarge photo
Camryn got in the pool for the first time today!  Our friends and neighbors, the Heberts, invited us to go to their parent's house and swim so we did!  Camryn wore her itsy bitsy bikini and lounged in her float with Mommy and with her friend Hannah.  The water was a little cold but she loved it and only wimpered when we first got in.  She loved it!

LAUGHING OUT LOUD! Mon, May 26, 2008
Last night I was getting Camryn undressed and ready for her bath with Owen and I was giving her "flubbers" on her belly and she laughed out loud for the first time!  I called Jared into the bedroom and he heard it, too - it was too cute!  She really chuckled and it was the sweetest laugh I have ever heard!  I haven't been able to get her to do it again but I will for sure keep trying!

First Ear Infection! Wed, May 21, 2008
Camryn continued to run a low-grade temp. over the weekend and was extremely fussy so I knew in my gut that something was wrong and that she was in pain!  I took her back to the doctor on Monday and she does in fact have an ear infection.  She has been on antibiotics for two days now and is back to her old self - happy and calm!  The doctor also thought she may have a UTI so she tried to catheterize my poor baby three times with no luck.  After being at the doctor's office for over two hours, they decided to put a bag on her to collect her urine - we then went to St. Elizabeth's Hospital to have it removed for testing.  We found out yesterday that she does not have a UTI and the urine culture also came back negative!  YAY!
